I am looking for a relatively inexpensive pair of clipless shoes to go with some crank bros egg beaters I am looking to get. Any suggestions I am on a budget and looking for something cheap but is pretty good at the same time. Thanks.

Look for last season's closeouts.

Go to the online retailers like Jenson, Universal Cycles, Art's Cyclery, Price Point and type in your price range and you'll see many options.

I've been using these and like them. Ratchet closure, carbon sole, usually on sale around $70-75. $80ish right now.

Don't get egg beaters. If you do, at least make sure to buy shoes that are comfortable when you push your bike after the pedal breaks off.

you can also try craigslist.
I scored a pair of almost brand new Specialized shoes couple years ago for $50

Mountain Bike Shoes

Agreed. I tend to like Shimano shoes, they fit my feet perfectly, are comfortable and breathe well. I recently picked up a pair of Shimano SH-M088 MTB Shoes at Performance Bike on sale. They were $110 but good shoes are worth the money IMO.

I have a pair of Shimano SH-MT33L that should be here tomorrow for $60. I have another pair of Shimano's I don't know the model that have been great so I'm sure I'll be happy with these.

Look for clearance sales at your LBS. I scored some new old stock carbon shoes for $20 last year. Even Sports Authority has some great gear occasionally, I saw some Shimano XT pedals marked for $25 last Xmas (sadly I didn't get to them in time)

I wouldn't order shoes on the internet since fit is the most important issue. That would mean you have to settle for LBS selection and prices. Fortunately, it appears that the big brands that are readily available at many LBS's make pretty good mass-market shoes. I have found quality of Specialized, Sidi, and Shimano to be very good. I don't think that weight and the last iota of stiffness matter very much for mountain biking.
