I have a 2007 Mojo in naked carbon that has a few spots where the clear coat has flaked off. I'm just about to strip my bike to check the pivots as it has gotten very squeaky of late. Yes, I have already checked the cable ferrules and the seat.

I have a spray can of White Knight Metal Guard which is an Australian made clear coat made to stop metal surfaces from tarnishing. Would it be safe to use this to patch up the clear coat on my Mojo? The only chemical info on the can is that the propellant is Dimethyl Ether. I'll be using a mask when I spray that stuff.

use LAQUER CLEAR on carbon fibre.. not sure i would use whatever you have.....

i was gonna sand mine down and have the body shop spray mine till i seen how good of shape it was in.....

also sounds its a problem with IBIS is the clear coat flaking off... the owner of the LBS that i deal with said his buddies is all screwed up from the clear flaking off (ive drooled over the bike and i think thats the reason i picked mine up)
if you can feather the edges without disturbing the CF underneath you could recoat for now till you can do it right..

I think that there are three versions of the clear coat, the older rubberized finish and the newer matte gloss and the Mojo C gloss clearcoat. I believe the older rubberized finish may have been a Poly product. I too, would like to find a touch up paint for the rubberized clearcoat.
