so if someone offered you a very nice set of polished CBR cranks or a complete post war Colson 3 bar cruiser, which would you take?

IMHO, "very nice" CBR's aren't polished -- at least not by people outside of Jack W.'s employment... and the Colson's that are worth having are PRE-war.

I'm sorry for the tease but I didn't have possesion yet. And I still have the CBRs :thumbsup: .1947 Colson, unrestored but IMHO in pretty darn good shape. I'll probably just do some light cleaning, oiling etc and ride it. Tires are pretty sketchy so I'll have to find some suitable replacements..

I actually did trade some cranks but not the CBRs. I had a set of 180 Boone road cranks that I had no use for....the seller did....trade made. :thumbsup:

dumb question? are the 26" tires the same on these as "standard" mountain bike 26" tires? I seem to recall Schwinn had a wierd 26" tire? thanx.

Really thinkin 'bout pulling off the rack, chaingaurd and fenders.just to see what it looks like.....crazy? (I'd keep them of course)

As long as its decimal (2.0, 2.125 ...) and not fractional (1-3/8, 1-3/4....) it is the same as standard MTB tires.
