i'm in no hurry so i dont mind the 2-3 week wait!
That is a re-badged Esacli or that is the generic un-badged version that Esacli buys from?

I think the MyWeigh 3001 or 7001 are the two best deals out there, they are from a reputable company, and are well made scale. I like the bowl that comes with the 3001, it is useful for unwieldy parts and wheels.

Pretty much all scales are made in China.

Here was my old scale review (might be time to re-visit it?): http://www.gramslightbikes.com/search/label/Scales

How can one "break" a food scale? Ok...gotta ride my century today!!!
The electronics in the cheaper scales just sort of either die or they become erratic and have to much variance to be useful. The cheaper scales also use cheaper sensors. Scales use sensors and some form of load cell (aka strain gauge cells) for their weight measurements. These sensors can be easily damaged if the scale is shocked (ie dropped) or overloaded.

Some of the cheaper scales are fine and some of the scales are pure junk, and it is unknown what you might end up with, even within the same companies model.

Caveat Emptor. How much have you spent on your bike? Spending a few extra bucks from a reputable scale company does not cost that much more. This is a weight weenie forum after all? Accuracy is king!
