I was browsing around looking for a relatively cheap set of forks to replace the RockShox Judys that came on my Specialized hard tail. I ride alot of trails, jumps whenever I can(no big doubles around here that I know of)some freeride and a little down hill.
Any opinions on.....Manitou 06 black platinum? Manitou R7 comp? 05 Minute 1? Marz drop off 2?

"cheap" is relative

minutes are pretty good forks, but the blacks and drop-offs aren't so good and the R7 while being a great fork I have heard, it's not made for any aggressive DH/FR type riding

hopefully your brakes are disc brakes so you won't have to worry about making sure your brakes will work on your fork.

also, how much travel do you have with your current fork? 100mm? 80mm? and are you happy with that or would you ride something a little more? there are a lot of decisions to make

good luck

Thanks for the suggestions Umbertom. its a 100mm I believe. I might go up to 120 or so.

SMT I realize you are probably the biggest, baddest rider on this board and that at age 1 you knew everything there is to know about shocks and suspension but others like me have to learn somewhere.

Yeah...ebay is a good idea and I'll be watching the mailorder close outs as well. I just need to figure out what models to look for. I was hoping to stay under the $300 mark.

He said he jumps.
So it doesnt matter if the minute is a good fork since it's not meant for jumping.
And the R7 is for XC racing.
