I've read Sheldon's article many many times. My canti's still suck. I wanted a cheap way to swap in V's.
Well, I found where many had said the feel of TA's was crappy. I also solved my entire problem by finding integrated 7 sp shift pods w/ V levers at Universal cycles for $30 complete with cables and housing. I can replace my integrated pods w/ canti levers.
I already have a set of V brakes I scrounged off a bike headed for the dumpster, so my brake problems should be solved. It's a 94 GT converted to a rail trail/commuter so I didn't want to spend much and this option is cheaper than the TA's at $40 plus new cables.
