Looks like I will be in Chattanooga for a business trip in mid-October, thinking of renting a bike and getting some rides in.

Can any Chattanooga locals provide insight on shops to focus on, or avoid, in looking for a rental/demo?

And I am 6'7" so will need to be looking for a XXL (or big XL) to rent.

Suck Creek is good people, and they rent bikes, but speaking from experience, you're going to be limited on choice in XXL and XL rentals. There just aren't that many guys our size out there, and it's a numbers game about making money. That said, I bet if you call and talk to Suck Creek and they don't have something you're interested in, they can tell you who might have it. That's just how they are.

you can demo bikes from any shop for some fee. I know for sure the Trek store does this and I think they all do.

I live in town and have an XL surly krampus I could potentially rent you if you don't mind a steel rigid singlespeed. Its my only bike and perfect for the local trails. But I'm only 6'3'' and it fits me perfect

I also run an Air bnb in a central location to all the local trails and have an acre of woods on the property that I built a "test track" in. Lots of switchbacks, a rock garden, etc.
