i am looking for someone local or fix my factory built wheels on my jamis xam ll

mavric 317 wheels with syncros hubs, i have about a month of good riding on them and the spokes have loosen up some, you can hear creeking from them ...

like them to be done right so they will last me for some time now.... i plan on getting another set of wheels later down the road but i want these to last for a while still....

anyone know of a wheel builder that will true and tension a set of machine built wheels around the chattanooga area.... that you trust and knows what they are doing.....

thanks....

I can and at a good price (paid in beer) and quick turnaround (can possibly do while you wait if we can figure a time). There are several people on the forum who can confirm my skills. Been building wheels on the side for 22 years, several hundred sets. PM me

I can confirm. He built the wheels on my current bike as well as the wheels for over 10 of my riding buddies. Great wheels and the prices cannot be beat.

LOL, Ligero Wheelworks or Troy Watson says "Real Design Head Wheel Builder and Wheel R&D" in resume. I don't think so..... maybe one wheel builder at ABG and not R&D just Free to me: hehe I guess I was a head wheel builder too:skep:

I know I am not one to point fingers but I know when I smell BS, whatever. He is a cool guy though. I mean no disrespect but....

So let the $hit fly. I am just calling that one out.

The OP asked for suggestions, and that was my suggestion. After 8000 wheel builds, that's who my money will continue to go with. As far as R&D goes, researching and designing your own hubs, and collaborating with I9 to design hubs for you is some pretty damn good reasearch and development IMHO.

Out of curiosity, did you ever work for ABG?

HAHA I worked there a good year before Troy came on, I helped set up the wheel building program and worked with the machine shop and engineers to set up the system. I did work with him and 2 others......

If you got money and can start a business and talk a good game anyone can do it

Real Design wheels is what we built at ABG and there was no R&D there! Not sure what the hell he means. I think he is a cool guy and give him props, no doubt. Just had to laugh at that one, I mean no disrespect to anyone here, Just sometimes I feel like an ass....:D :ciappa:

But I build wheels for friends and almost all my personal wheels minus the crossmaxs, and do full service shop w/ repairs for anyone in Chatt Town that wants the best price and quality work done in a timely manner, Tune ups, suspension rebuilds, wheels, just about anything you need. Even pick up and delivery if need be!

wheels are going great!! and i found that creeking noise, SEATPOST,
did that guy i work with buy those diamoundbacks after i left...

i rode raccoon after work today and i think they will last untill i get me a new set next year..

yeah the more i ride the jamis the more i like it, the only problem i have with it is the fox dhx 5.0 shock leaking down, its the boostcan not the shock itself... thinking of having it sent off and doing a overhall build for my weight and riding style....

david, is one great person, and mechanic, he had my wheels trued and tensioned in about 10 min. and he showed me what and why he was doing at the time.... i might try to do it myself next time..if i get the right tools to do it with....
