I am just getting back into the sport and my new bike is killing my arse. :smallviolin: SO....I am going too invest in some riding shorts. I am have seen alot of talk here on MTBR about the products with chamois in the seat. I have not seen much discussion about "gel shorts". Is this an out of date product or is the chamois much better. Years ago when I rode (10 years) the gel shorts were the way too go. Any help or advise would be great. Thanks.:D

Heres my 2 cents

I just bought these http://pricepoint.com/detail/14915-...rts/Baggy/MTB/Zoic-Vigor-Rip-Baggy-Shorts.htm
and cant wait to try them out. I also bought these http://pricepoint.com/detail/12342-...17-Shorts/Lycra/Price-Point-Padded-Briefs.htm but the padding dosent come up to far in the front and there paper thin and not all the soft on the family jewels so woudlnt buy them. Now these are cheap and I like them http://www.performancebike.com/shop/profile.cfm?SKU=19943&subcategory_ID=1120 although I am switching to the first pair I mentioned and that is the padded baggy shorts but the Performance shorts are great and provide padding and softer ride. I do want to try the Gels since I have a pair of Golf shoes with Gel and the air hits the Gel and makes a cooling feeling. Hope that might give you and idea.

Thanks for your input. I think I am going too try the "padded unershorts" while I just wear my normal baggy cargos or something over them. I am also considering investing in a WTB saddle....they look comfy.
