Hello all,

I converted an old Bianchi Lynx to singlespeed not too long ago, and loved it. The problem I have is that I bought some 2.3 Kenda Komodo tires, and the rear tire almost rubbed the chainstay. So, I bought a little bit smaller tire for the rear, a 2.1 Kenda Nevegal. It rode fine for a while...now the smaller 2.1 is rubbing on the same stay. So, I am wondering is my frame misaligned? Or is my rim messed up? Any ideas? Am I looking at a costly repair either way? I am not looking to spend too much on a 1994 steel hardtail.

Looks like its just rubbing on the nondrive side. Get your wheel redished and trued. If that doesn't work then it is the frame's problem. Shouldn't cost too much.

Fit the wheel the wrong way round - ie drive side of wheel on the left.

If it rubs the same side as before, then frame alignment is the culprit. If it rubs the other side, then your wheel isn't dished correctly and needs a little adjustment.
