I'd like to put a larger chainring on a Trek MT60 (kids bike) which has a single piece crank and a plastic bashwich. If I get a larger chainring the bashwich obviously won't be appropriate, so I'm wondering if anyone knows a source for cheap plastic bashwich's?

For anyone interested in seeing the existing one, attached is a photo.

Thanks!

They don't exist as far as I know, and believe me, shops would sell a ton of them if they did. Probably the #1 broken part I see on kids bikes.

Your best bet is probably to modify one of those plastic chainguards that are ubiquitous on 'BMX' bikes. If you have a local shop that sells them, in sure they'd be willing to part with one.

I'm such a dork. I didn't even bother to look that it was actually a one-piece crank but assumed, and it's not :) Looks like a square bottom bracket. The chainring seems to be attached to the crank arm so I would have to replace that and also find a bashwich.

For anyone interested, I did find a SunLite one-piece crank/chainring 36T with double chainguard on eBay for $12:
