hi I have just recently changed the rear wheel on my wife's new bike . still using the original chain and 7 speed gears..the gears shift perfectly one touch while the bike is on a stand but as soon as you ride the bike the gears slip and you can't get any drive .
everything is as new , cables , chain and gears .
any ideas why it shifts and drives on a stand but not when riding the bike .
thanks for any help .

You're not putting much force on the drivetrain when it's on the stand. When you try to ride the bike there's much more resistance to overcome in order to spin the wheel. That extra resistance can cause problems to reveal themselves.
