Hey all,

If I do alot of DH....No uphill and not much shifting. Does the choice of chains
really matter ?

how much do like it when your chain breaks?

A half decent one is like 20bux, not even worth arguing over.. I use sram PC971, $18 from pricepoint, never had a problem.

yep ,,,,
what 30 bucks when a chain last 3 years on a dh bike
I used to break chains weekly. (Clyde)

The strongest chain out there is the KMC X9, it does not matter which type.
The gold coating makes it almost rustproof.

Expensive chain, but no that expensive, but reliable, rustproof and reduces drivetrain wear so can pay for itself.
Great thanks...I only asked because my new bike comes with all high end components except the chain which is a KMC Z9000 (which I hear alot of bad reviews about). I guess I will just use it until it breaks and get a better one then........Not sure if it matters but I am about 250lbs all geared up.
