Alright I have an 08 Trek 4300. It is about two weeks old and has been out for a total of maybe 10hrs. I ride mostly all singletrack. My problem is when going down a certian trail which is pretty fast and very bumpy my chain tends to fall off. What is causing this?

Your chain may be too long, or you may have it in a bad gear ratio. You should never have the chain in the small (inner) chainring in the front, and the small (outer) cog in the back at the same time. This will produce a really slack chain, and it's just a bad idea because your chainline is going to be much too skewed. Likewise, you never want to run the largest chainring/cog combo either.

Read up here to learn about your chain length.
