What chain lube do you guys recommend for front range area type of riding? I ride mostly in the Jeffco area (Falcon, Apex, etc) Thanks.

The only one I use

Was educated about Squirt about a year ago and must say I find it to be easy to clean and only needs to be applied every 2-3 rides.
Best part is no build up.
Dumonde Tech. It may not leave your chain looking showroom clean, but it lasts several times longer.

And it smells so good I am always tempted to do a shot of it...:D But haven't...:skep:

I actually do one ride after applying Dumonde, then you can dry-toothbrush off the extra dirtlump clingies and give it one wipe-around with a rag damp with solvent and the cleaned off chain is good for several more rides with no noise. Not like I am anal about my bikes or anything.:yikes:

SS of course, no idea what the derailer-bike implications would be.
Amsoil 5w30. It's good enough for an internal combustion engine and it lasts for many rides on my chains.

Hell - any generic 5w30 for that matter.
white lightning. I've heard a lot of people don't like it, works well for me and doesn't gunk up my chain too badly. I clean w/wd40 every 4th ride or so.
Squirt. Nothing else. Tried many others. Squirt works and is super easy to apply.
I 2nd Blue Rock and Roll. I've tried it all prolink, dumond tech, white lighting, pedros, tri flow, finish line.

Rock and roll is clean as can be, works great in all conditions.
I was put onto Squirt a while back as well and am a huge fan. But who sells it locally?
I too like the Dumond Tech/ Tech Lite - my kids even like it when I lube the chain because of the smell
I don't get buildup with it, but I found wiping down the chain about 5 minutes after applying is crucial.
I've used White Lightning, Pedro's Super Dry, Pedro's Ice Wax, duPont Teflon, Tri-Flow, and Boeshield T-9, and have stuck with Boeshield since it has kept the chain (SRAM PC-951 and KMC X9SL) quiet and clean the longest for the riding that I do.

Edit: Incidentally, I used the Boeshield to quiet a laptop heatsink fan spindle (the notoriously epidemic ThinkPad T60 buzz) - works great there, too!
Our top 3 sellers are:

ProLink Gold
Dumonde Tech Lite
Squirt

We sell Tri-flow (mainly the dry version), Dumonde Bio, White Lightning as well, but those top three are our folks favorites.

I use Squirt mainly myself for my mountain bike, although for cross racing I used the Prolink gold as I thought it lasted a bit better in the mud. On my commuter I use Dumonde lite as I think it lasts the longest without having to reapply, which is my goal for the commuter.

dry seems best
I think ProLink is fine for on-road use, but my chain would start making noise after an hour in the dirt.
