My bike has an e13 chain guide on the front chainring, and while swapping the chain recently, I noticed it rubs the chain pretty significantly in the lower (bigger) gears. Motor drag with the chain removed was nearly zero, but with the chain installed, it makes it seem like there's a ton in those lower gears. Seems like it could have an effect on range, or at the least make it easier to pedal with the motor off, or maybe allow use of a lower power setting. Even if it's only a 5-10 watt difference, that could add up on a long ride.

I didn't see any readily apparent way to adjust it, but some googling around has shown there may be spacers behind it?

Anyone else run across this issue? Did adjusting it make any noticeable difference in range or power level use?

The plastic guide came loose on mine and it rubbed a little while in lower gears, had to use a diff nut/bolt cause the little tiny nut was spinning in the groove. The metal bracket does use spacers behind it on mine but the chain may rub in highest gear if I removed them. Honestly I don't think the guide is even needed
