I recently bought a singlespeed and have been doing some upgrades. In the process I noticed that the chain alignment is slightly off. When looking straight down at the front COG and spin the crank the gear rides the left side of the chain very tightly. If you put a little side pressure on the chain you get a definite popping sound. Is this OK or does the front or rear gear need to be spaced over?

The straighter the chainline the better.

One of those pops may be your chain coming off or breaking pretty soon if you don't straighten it out. Nuts+Stem=Sterility
