FYI - due to rains, the race scheduled to take place at Toro Park is being moved to Fort Ord, same place as last race. Also, apparently the Pro/Expert class will start at 11AM along with the Sport class ... probably in front of sport of course!

Not sure if I'll make this race but if I do race Sport, I'll be lapped for sure! Here's my chance to elbow Tick as he tries to pass me! :p

Oh yeah, who's going to be there? Its a Saturday and some rain is expected Thursday/Friday and a chance for Saturday. Are you ready to handle the conditions or just a fair weather racer? :D

Too bad Toro is out, but the ordski handles the water better... I'll be there for the mass start...

Q
I'm going to wait and see what the weather is like. I'm not racing in the pouring rain, but this maybe the one chance we'll ever get to race Ord in the snow....
Hoping to be there...been fighting bad chest cold though :(

Snow level is going to have to be down to an elevation of 300' or so to race in it. I don't know of much in Ord that is higher than 600 feet except right around Laguna Seca which gets up to 900'.
Freezing Rain

Snow would be preferable. Rain @ the point of freezing is much harder to deal with.
I'll be there. I'm hoping for rain and about 38 or so degrees. I'll be racing Sport some place near the back....way back.
I'll be there fighting a cold and fighting to get on the podium in beginner class. Man it's going to be cold
Any one else getting psyched for tomorrow's race? I'm hoping that this miserable weather will keep all the fast guys at home:D
Sweet race. I want to thank the beginners for braving the cold and splashing all the water and mud out of the way for us! Nice tacky and fast out there.

I uploaded to Strava and created a segment containing a single lap. At this point only 3 matches and JL's fastest lap was 22.26, mine 24.54. Nice job! I blame having to get out of the way of Pro riders. :)
Great race! I took 4th place today. My first CCCX medal ever and my first cat 2 medal as well. Very happy there were 10 racers in our category, since with only nine the medals would have been only three deep. Aaron did really well too with a third place finish. Good to see everyone and looking forward to see the podium pictures, Bob!
Great race! I liked the course and the weather turned out really nice. After getting my a$$ handed to me during the start of the last race, I was determined to stay with the lead group this time around. Unfortunately everyone went out a lot slower than expected and I burned up a few too many matches going out faster than I needed to. After getting shuffled back on the first climb, I went into catch up mode. It was going really well until the 1 hour and 3 minute mark, when my legs just died. I mean nothing left at all. And so suddenly, like motoring along one minute, dead the next. The rest of the race was a horrible experience, that leaves me scratching my head, wondering what happened and how to avoid a repeat performance in the future. I'll post up on Strava for anyone looking for "how not to MTB race."
Once again cccx came through with a fun race.
I'll keep it short, race hurt, my knee is the size of two golfballs and the Santa Cruz Ale Works taste good after a ride. Got fourth and team Quadzilla got four podiums.
Mtbr was reppin again.
Ohh yeah Aussie Bob came through in the cluch with pictures again.
Pretty much he is The Man.
Kudos for racing in spite of the dire predictions of foul weather. You guys got it together and put your wheels on the line. As my friend David used to say, “you've got to show up to beat me.”
I was hoping for a redux of the Cool MTB race a few years ago with of snow and mud. Nothing but blue bird conditions yesterday. Although, I did see snow on the sand as I was approaching Seaside from the north.

7th place for my first race of the year. Kept in contact with JL for 3 laps, only to see him drop me on the descents? WTF. Settled in and didn't bust my a** again until Tom Jakaby caught up to me on the final lap fire road climb. Dropped him and on the top section, a singlespeeder wanted to pass me and got upset that I didn't move over. Really? There was plenty of room and time to go around me until the single track. The pros passed with much more courtesy.

I have to keep racing even when I lose contact as I distanced myself easily from Tom and still had a good kick at the end.

The Carbon Blur XC with a brand new Fox front fork and new set of Maxxis Cross-country tires made all the difference in the turns. Finally some grip! (That's one advantage of working again: being able to buy stuff.) Also, I've been riding Demo's Ridge, Sawpit and Braille DH quite a bit. Anything at CCCX is super easy in comparison. The Strava KOM competition makes me ride a lot more as well, but today I'm taking it easy.

I'm editing the pics right now .I will have them on Face Book tonight . Cheers Aussie Bob
