I've had my CC since Fall of 2006 when I moved to Portland, OR. The bike has been through many changes. I've mainly used it as a commuter but have also done century rides on it, overnight camping, and trail excursions. It's an incredible bike. I really am quite fond of it. I also have two Rivendells, which I like more, but still, the Surly CC is an awesome bike and I can't praise it enough. Next year I'm definitely adding a bike to the stable. I restrained myself this year but next year... I'll pick-up a LHT or Fargo or maybe something else.

I'm also pretty sure I'll put an Open Bar on the bike once Surly makes them available.

Here are some photos showing all the different ways I've set-up my CC. I think most of these photos have been posted here at one time or another but here they are all collected.

Excellent!

My FG CC, on the road since late spring, hasn't gone through fundamental changes yet, just a seasonal accretion of stuff (lights, fenders, rack, bigger tires).

Your pix have me thinking about accelerating the schedule for north-road style bars onto my LHT.

I need to get to work on some new build ideas:

Initially I had it set up as a AT-2 type bar dingle speed fixed:

Midge version of above (I liked this setup quite a bit):

'Cross racer:

I've had a few other builds I don't have pictures of. It's a great bike. I've had a Riv Romulus, and I actually prefer the Surly.

Here's my cc in century training mode - overlooking the late Patrick Swayze's ranch.

Well here's mine. Seems like a lot of folks round here, mine has been used for a bit of everything, road rides, overnight trips, commuting, lol, I even get groceries with mine a lot of the time. Fantastic bike, and oh so versatile! Mine has gone from more of a pure road bike to what ever it is now with the J-bar, cross cranks and a mountain cassette with a mut for a drive train. I need to get a better pic of what it looks like now with the studs and everything on it.

happy trails...

Found one more picture: my CC set up in what I think of as "Riv mode:"

Brooks, fat tires, free pedals, cloth bar tape, downtube shifters, etc.

Since many people ask, that's an Acorn large saddlebag pictured.

Here's mine, complete w/ studded tires for black ice:

As the seasons progress, the tires will get slicker, fenders and lights come off, then they will all return.
