No I did not loosen spokes. The rim was true so I left sleeping dogs lie and did the repair under tension.Did you loosen the spokes at that area for the repair? What layup glue?
Not that I can tell. Did 70kph down a hill on the road after my 1000m vert descending this morning with no I'll affects.Nice! Has the balance of the wheel been affected?
We are of course carbon based forms..... we are embracing the inner self when we choose carbon.Carbon is so eco friendly. No fatigue limit and able to be home repaired, truly the responsible man's choice.
The bigger question is why is there a crack there? you might want to think about a strip or 2 of uni-directional across the crack to provide extra strength and reduce the chance of crack propagation. An old aircraft engineering trick is to drill a small hole at the end of the crack. This dissipates the stress riser and reduces the chance of further cracking. (obviously fill any holes drilled in carbon with epoxy.Had a minor crack in a wheel so that it wouldn’t hold air/sealant. Warmed it a bit with a hair dryer and flowed some Crazy Glue into the crack. A bit of sanding and good to go!
