I was wondering if it's safe and okay to put electrical tape on carbon bars at clamping points. Will the adhesive damage the clear coat and perhaps the fibers over time? I'm just concerned about removing the tape at a later point and having the adhevisve dry out and taking clear coat with it. I'm installing a Yeti ARC carbon riser bar and was thinking of putting electrical tape where brake levers, shifter, and stem will clamp on. SAFE to do?

Very interesting about the bars. I have a small piece of electrical tape around my carbon seatpost to mark distance. Is this bad? If so, what should I change it too.

Nope, its just fine, provided it's not actually being clamped.

Also, toothpaste works just as well as carbon friction paste.
