Is there a real difference between the two when it comes to strength? I have an oversize Easton EC 70 on my 575 and was thinking of upgrading my ASR-SL to the same but the regular one is a lot cheaper on clearance. If the O/S one is a lot stronger, I'll stick with it though. When it comes to carbon, I'm still out of my comfort zone. Any info will be appreciated.

Stiffer, for sure.

I am perfectly happy with my 25.4 Monkeylite bar. That being said, if I were upgrading the bar and stem anyways, I would go with the OS setup. I am not sure that they are stronger, (they probably are) but the larger clamp makes the interface between the stem and bar stiffer, resulting in better steering precision.

both are safe and stong but the oversized in my mind is stonger and having the litle peace of mind that the carbon is a bit bigger equaling stronger i'll go with the larger. I did ride a 25.4 monkey lite for 4 years with no problens but on my new bike i had a 31.8 bontrager and it felt more stable
