I'm new to carbon forks and just ran into what I believe is called a "bung". Unlike a bolt in a starnut (that I'm used to), it does not seem to compress the stem onto the spacers. It just expands.

How is this supposed to work and how do I alleviate my headset play?

Also I would move one of those spacers from below to on top if you can handle a little more drop. That top stem bolt isn't going to be clamping on much as is.

I also know most people are not a fan of the single bolt compression devices. Ones that separate the wedge compression and the clamping force are much easier to dial in.
