carbon is poor for bike rotors - they dont work unless extremely hot - like on a F1 car etc
Man, not a lot of people seem to know the difference between carbon fiber composite and carbon-carbon composite.

The brakes on F1 cars are not normal carbon fiber layup!! They use the same material on the nose the space shuttle.

Do you see road racers getting their rims up to 700degC before they can slow down? I mean think about it....they've had carbon rims and brake pads that have worked for ages in road racing. As far as I know carbon fiber rims only need special brake pads and they work fine for braking.
