Car HIDs?

Not sure anybody has seen these yet, but I just got a pair for my Audi for $62 shipped. My car takes H7 bulbs, but they make these kits for all sorts of halogen replacements.

THey probably draw too much current for bike use. IIRC, the specs said 8 amps max draw. You might need a huge battery to keep them burning.

Seems like a cheap freakishly bright DIY light is possible, tho.

Yeah, that would require a fairly hefty battery. Giant Li-Po maybe? Another problem would be the bulk of the projector assembly. A quality projector is going to be ~3" across + housing, and ~6" deep, and weigh a couple of pounds.
