Hey, guys :)

I just moved to N. VA two months ago from central / western New York. I'm used to racing 1-2 times per week during the season. Between local weeknight races and regional weekend races, I raced 27 times in 2005. I'm trying to find a centralized listing of all races in the mid-atlantic area. I'm not having much luck.

Are there any sites that are really worth looking at? www.bikeracing.com is hands down the ugliest site I've ever seen in my life. www.iplayoutside.com is too cumbersome and non-specific. I want something simple and to the point like http://www.wnymba.org/portal.php?h=racing. Their list is short now, but it grows very long as the season approaches.

If I can't find anything worthwhile pretty soon, I'm just going to make my own site and start soliciting to have people list their events on my site so people that share my passion for racing can be as informed as I like to be.

Thanks for your help!

By the way, I love the area so far. The trails are awesome. :)

racing in the mid atlantic

Closest to DC, there is a NORBA AMBS race in Greenbrier State Park, MD in the spring and a 4 race weekday series in Wakefield Park in Annandale, VA. Info is available at www.potomacveloclub.com.

www.bikeracing.com is dead..well, sorta. Although everyone gripped about Dan's races, the demise of his spring and fall series has left a huge hole in the race calendar and no one has stepped up to take over where he left off. He still promotes the Susque-however-you-spell-it race that is part of the Mid Atlantic Superseries. Their info can be found at www.masuperseries.com. Most of the MASS races are in PA and are within a 3 hour drive, but it makes for a long summer to hit everyone one of them.

There is also the three races in Michaux State Forest, PA which are well worth the trip. (http://www.gettysburgbicycle.com/racepage/raceindex.htm).

Going further south, there are races at www.mountainbikevirginia.com/race.htm.
