Anyone have an idea who has such a thing....

thompson does not make one...nor does raceface...not syncros...not titec....nobody???

Kalloy has one but I'd like something a little safer.

Can anyone help?

It has to be 400mm+ :(

400mm is a very long seatpost, let alone anything more than 400mm; why do you need one that long? What's unsafe about the Kalloy post? You can get a fairly standard 27.2 and get a shim for 30.4 fairly easily...

Second The 400mm Question

That screams to me that you need a substantially bigger frame. Although if you have it already not much you can do there.

Also the Kalloy will deffinately be 'safer' than a Thomson, RaceFace, Etc... as it is almost a solid piece of pipe. It would take a near nuclear catastrophy to bend or break that post.

And Thirdly...the shim is going to be the way to go if you're set on a different brand of post. Not many companies made posts that long so odds are you're only going to find one in a 27.2 or other popular size.

maybe a little more to story

is the frame small....who knows....

i wanted a hardtail / single speed / freeride bike....

picked up a large 24 le toy 4. The TT length is the same as my other bikes or close enough...

the seattube length is about 4.5" less than any of my other bikes due to the really really sloping top tube of the bike.....

I've ridden it and feels fine from an upper body perspective...just need to stretch out my legs a little...

No bike really fits me...I'm 6'5" with alot of leg. I ride pretty technical rocky rooty new england stuff.

i was hesitant to use kalloy....i've broken two of them ...not bent...i've snapped them up where they attach to the seat.....not fun.

I have a buddy with a LeToy but he's not nearly as leggy as you...I'll see what I can find out for ya as he's in the bike biz...
Thanks a bunch.

If I have to i'll do the shim.

Looking at the bike though I'll have it for a long time.

I e-mailed le toy a few days ago but haven't heard back. Just itching to ride this thing asap.

I can't remember if it was Titec or Raceface, I think it was Titec...They have a telescoping seat post. It's for bikes with interrupted seat tubes but it probably gets pretty close to 400mm while fully extended. Not sure how strong it is though.
