Makes sense. I can't speak for the original poster and my bad for semi-hijacking. To me, going from the Flash 1 alloy to Flash 3 carbon is $700 +/- with basically the same components besides the carbon frame. If I'm an active racer then maybe that makes sense, but I have heard/read that the difference between weights of these two models is minimal, less than a pound or so. $700 isn't worth a pound.
1850 for the Flash 1 seems like a pretty good deal to me. I'd jump on it. You still get that killer lefty that weighs barely over 3 pounds. Save the money by not buying the carbon and purchase some sweet wheels.
