Anyone know when the cannell plunge is ready for riding? Trying to plan a road trip to Kernville and am curious to know when the snow will clear

I believe it opens in june but only from big meadow as the road to the top usually still has snow. It should be open from the top some time in early july.

Early July is a good guess for this year. We are at about 130% of normal snowpack so the snow is deep up there. The road should open by July 4th weekend.

Last year we rode it the weekend before the fourth. There was quite a bit of hiking thru the snow drifts. A couple of years ago it was open on Memorial weekend. It all depends on how much more snow falls and how warm the spring is.

Talked to one of the guys who lives up there (motocycle type) and he said there was a lot of washed out areas this year.
