I've had two different C9 shocks on different bikes, but in reality I think the characterisitcs of the C9 would be a bad match for the VPP design. It would work, but the C9 has a pretty soft mid-stroke like the DHX Air, and this isn't usually the best match for VPP bikes. The nice thing about the C9 is that if you do have a problem, you can rebuild it on the kitchen table at home with a $10 seal kit. That said, I've found their AD10, AD12, and C9 shocks to be very reliable overall.
