Yeah, but what most people don't realize is that he is actually mounting NOT dismounting.

Where you kidding? If he was to mount his bike like this, he would have to be standing in front of his bike, facing away, with hands on the handlebars. To start in that position and get to where he is in the picture would be quite a feat.

Assuming he can do this, why would the extra material of his shorts be in the front of his legs during the motion of mounting the bike. Wouldn't the extra material be at the back of his legs?

actually yes, I tried it in the snow a few years ago but lost interest before trying it on grass or something else.
