one option...
Clean the fork cutting guide well, pick out the embedded metal pieces
Tape bar with masking tape centered over cut, 3-4 wraps should do
Line up cut in middle of tape, put in guide carefully, just enough to hold the bar
Use a very fine tooth hacksaw 25-35 tpi
Cut very slowly by allowing the weight of the saw to do the work, NO forcing
Slow down at the end
Sand with a fine grit to finish.
Cracking sounds are very bad, be careful
