I'm waiting on a SC Blur (XC).

The Blur has two versions, using the same exact frame:

XC (110F/100R). Rear Stroke: 40mm
Trail (120F/115R). Rear Stroke: 45mm

I want to convert to the Trail version (120F/115R) and I already have a 120mm SID fork.

Is it possible to modify the rear shock and gain the additional 5mm of stroke? Do I just remove the travel spacer? I was assuming that the dotted lines on the diagram below meant those parts could be removed/changed.

Thanks!

I appreciate the Yes answer but for assurance, has this been done why anyone? I also have a blur and want to covert to the TR version. No Fox rear shocks seam to exist right now.
I took the air can off and used a pair of nippers to cut the spacer. You need to keep the tips away from the shaft to prevent scratching it. The spacer is fairly brittle so you don't need to cut all the way to the shaft. I cut it at 120 degree intervals. Clean up any chips so they don't scratch the seals
