Hi all, I'm new here and wanted to say hi ... "Hi"

I just bought a Diamond Back Ascent EX and have been trying to find any info I could about it and I came across the following bike listed here in this forum. My bike looks identical except for the seat:

I checked the front wheel hub on my bike and it says the following

shimano hb-m550

can you date my bike with that info and maybe post some links where I can read up on this bike (tech info, etc) ?

found the years from a Shimana DOC

Bikepedia lists this bike as available in 93 and 95. Check the specs against your bike

seems to be the '93' model ... frame and fork has CR MO stickers on them and that would be the '93' model. Has 7 speed as well, '95' is 8 speed, but I have the '95' rear Derailleur 'cause it's labeled Shimano Deore LX. It also has the '95' LX hubs (though the '95' rear has 8 cogs and mine has 7).

my guess is that the specs at bikepedia may be incorrect or incomplete. Another possibility is that my bike is pieces parts, but that would not explain the rear LX hub with only 7 cogs.
