Can I use the old hose?

I broke an xt lever (rear) in an OTB crash a week ago. I was fortunate enough to find a caliper/lever set on the net and I already have a shimano hose. The rear hose is internally routed which is good for looks and riding but can be a nightmare to work on.

Can I just flush the old hose in placed with fluid and reuse it? It has no visible damage but is seven years old with many miles. This is why I'm replacing both the calipers and the lever.

If I do reuse the old hose, do I need new ferules ("shimano olives") or can I just remove the old parts, flush, connect, and bleed? I already bled pretty well after the OTB but that was red fluid, not pink.

Thanks for your reply in advance.

Reusing the hose is not a problem, but it is advisable to replace the olive as the current one is matched to the broken lever.

Reuse hose, if it leaks replace olive. Youll need to trim hose to put new olive though.
