Can anyone give me some feedback on the new FB?

In the market for new bike. Coming off a 27.5 FB - Yes, it's old and I haven't made the 29 switch yet.....

Demo'd a FB a couple weeks ago and was shocked how well it climbed. The MED felt like a perfect fit for me. On the way down, I got a pinch flat and had to walk it! Didn't get to experience the descending capabilities, but I'm sure they'd be as everyone writes.

Being new to 29, it naturally feels long to me. It doesn't help when I've heard reviewers call this a LONG bike. The MED wheelbase is 1236mm. Is that considered "long?" I don't know.

Was looking at the new Stumpjumper EVO. My size is the S4. Same reach as the FB but that wheelbase is 1251!!

What's typical for an all-mountain bike or whatever you want to call these? Are they all getting longer and slacker?

Appreciate any input
