Can someone recommend a good camping spot I can shack up for 3-4 days when I am visiting Gooseberry, Zion and Bryce? This would be most likely for last week in September, 1st week of October

Thanks for any input, or links even

You can camp any BLM land free of charge for 14 days, move your tent 5 feet and you got 14 more days. Gooseberry Mesa as well as the rest of the area has plenty of spots.

There is paid camping inside Zion, as well as right outside Bryce at the bottom of Thunder Mtn.
There is also free camping down by the river under the cottonwoods a few miles before the Zion's entrance.

Awesome do you guys have any links that show these BLM and other campsites, so I can plan where to go?

Thanks again!

Not really that I know of unless you just look for a BLM map. Where do you want to camp? Centrally? At Gooseberry? In the park? Multiple spots? Do you have 4x4?

Honestly in the scheme of things, especially if you have 4x4, I'd avoid Mosquito Cove which is what the other poster is talking about. It's typically crowded, right by the highway and on BLMs "problem" list and possibly getting closed from what I understand.

I dont have 4x4. Just a Tacoma truck with a camper shell. So avoid Mosquito Cove, ok...any other options?

thanks!

Ahhh, I hate the heat so I avoid Zion's in the summer months, therefore, I didn't realize there was such a mosquito problem. ;)
Navajo Lake was beautiful yesterday. About 27 miles from Cedar City. $10 per night for tent camping. Go to the middle campground.
When camping at Gooseberry drive past the bathroom about 1/2 mile and on the left are the best sites on the mesa, in the trees. Go another 1/2 mile and you're at the main trail head. Free.
