Hi Folks,

Just picked up a 2009 Fargo in XL and wondering what people have used for cable...

Im going to be running 46cm Woodchippers with bar end shifters and cables under bar-tape all the way to the tops, so might need tandem length inners?

Brakes wise ive got BB7 MTB with matching Tektro levers but previous experience of this combo had terrible drag and feel due to cheap cable sets, so what do you guys/girls use?

Cheers in advance,
Rich.

should have plenty of housing with standard cables...I havent used bar ends, only brifters, so i wouldnt take that to heart
are you using road brake tektro levers? that might be the issue running with bb7 mtb calipers

Ive got the proper MTB pull Tektro Dropbar levers (forget the number) to work with the MTB calipers so no problem there, thanks for the thought tho.

On my Surly LHT with bar-end shifters the cable was only just long enough to reach the mech so with the higher bars and longer cable routing im concerned ill need the longer inners. Also, what gear outer are people using, i generally just get Shimano-by-the-meter.

Ta,
Rcih.

You should have enough cable/housing in a standard kit. BB7s work best with a compressionless housing, so something like the Jagwire Ripcord would be a good option. Check out the Salsa blog for tips on cable routing with woodchippers and bar end shifters. Good luck! Be sure to post pictures when you're done.

Ok thanks guys, help much appreciated.

Ive actually held back the build slightly for now. As im not sure if i will be happy on the XL im just going to build it up with what parts i have at hand and some cheap cables. Once im happy it will be getting a full set of sealed gore cables :0)

Cheers,
Rich.
