I want go to full length derailer cables on my jamis dakar.I don't want to the highend sealed
cables like the nokon or aztec power cables.I wondered if anyone made a cable with
a factory crimped end like a motorcycle clutch cable.
With this cable I could detach the cable at the derailer end and hook a cable luber
tool to the shifter end and then clean and lube the cable with an airesol powered contact
cleaner and cable lube like they do on dirtbike/motorcycle clutch cables. I've tryed
this on a regular derailer cables and it didn't work that well.
Anyone who knows of a factory crimped cable i would appreciate the information

Go to your LBS and buy a hunk of SIS housing in the length you need. Get the proper ferrules for the ends. Will cost only $1-$1.50 a foot and it is basically a sealed system. I use teflon coated cables with no lube of any kind - ever (just attracts dirt and gunks up). Change the whole thing once a year or a bit longer.
