C-riders at Dreamy Draw Trail

Rod, Dale and I hit T100 yesterday morning for one of our usual casual but long C-rides. We take off from Sumida Park, just south of Aunt Chiladas, at 6am with 72° temp and a nice breeze. Under the freeway and up 1A, down zipper and around the little mountain with no name.

Totally unintentional we all wore red jerseys. Then at the Tatum parking lot we noticed that Dale and I even matched shoes. (Must not do that again!:nono: )

[edit: never mind]

Rod drops in while Dale waits and chats with some hikers.

He almost makes the step on the other side.

“Hurry, get out the way, Dale is coming!!!”

A little wheelie on his 38-lb chumba and up he goes.

Me enjoying a milder section and the gorgeous views.

A little photoshopped composition of Dale coming down towards DD parking lot. But we take 1A mid-way.

More 1A and finally a post-ride yummy. (tsk tsk, bad girl) :D

we had a great time. the guys (they're not really c-riders) rode upper 1A and porcupine while i took t100 proper. we rode zipper twice and spent 4½ hours in unseasonal cool weather with no crashes or mechanicals.

good friends, good trails, good times!
Nice Sativa, looks like you guys had a good ride...sorry I missed it, but I don't think I even own a red jersey!
Thanks for posting the pics...D
Loving this weather, great day to be out on the trails! Nice photos!

2moro: comp loops at mmp! yipeeee!
Speaking of DD.... I was out riding on Sat evening going up T100 proper out of DD and I rolled by a bush that started rattling... I didn't stick around to see where the snake was but it sounded right next to me (the bust was pushed up right against the trail), less than 2-3 feet if I had to guess.

I am always cautious on side trails for snakes but didn't think they would be so close to such a high traffic location. Got my heart pumping... needless to say I didn't stop peddling for a few miles...

I wonder how many people have close calls each year and how many people end up getting bit? I have ran over them before (was crossing the trail when I was bombing down hill, nothing either one of us could do by the time we saw each other) but never had them rattling away right next to me... scary.
