hey 29er fans, I have a favor to ask. I busted my 2008 GT Marathon Frame. The head welds didn't hold. GT is going to warranty the whole bike for a newer one since they dont make that frame anymore. I just had the rear wheel re-built and I don't want to send it back with the bike.

Does anyone down here in SO CAL (San Diego) have a bent or damaged 29er wheel they don't want? Let me know if you can help. Tks! 619-980-0113

I would just contact them and let them know you want to keep your rear wheel. Pretty sweet that they will give you a complete bike. BTW is the old wheel better than the new one will be?

They will send you a GT Sensor 29er. Its the replacement for the Marathond 9r.

The rear wheel was rebuilt with the Shimano LX hub the GT came with hooped with mavic 719 rim, DT swiss spokes and black nipples. Not sure if it a great wheel but it just new and straight. looks nice to send back. I think the new wheels will be better:

For a 1st time 9r and 1st purchase, GT made a good 29er for the money with good components. Thank gawd for their good customer service
