So Today was supposed to be great. My new xtr shifter pods came in and I was going to install them and tune up the bike for a ride tomorrow on the 4th. I was really excited for both the ride and because of the shifters. My old Sram shimano compatible trigger shifters bit the dust and this was to be the last upgrade on the Dean. I couldn't get the rear shifting as well as I liked so upon closer inspection I noticed the derailleur hanger was slightly bent. Sooooo, like an idiot I decided to try and gently bend it with a Park alignment tool. And then about one minute later I snapped it off. I should have just left it, it was rideable and then ordered one after the holiday. So, tomorrow I will be doing a long ride on my Curtlo road bike instead.

Nobody seems to have the new Dean hangers in stock at any of the phone or online dealers. Dean will hopefully be able to get one out quick. BUT if for some reason any of you guys have a spare derailleur hanger you would like to sell....PLEASE let me know. It is the new style with the two bolts that thread into the hanger--not into the frame.

Oh yeah, I also got a flat on my car this evening. It was a F--KING AWESOME DAY :madman:

I thought endure26 had started this thread since I know he has a Dean and he is local. Yea -- I'm going to take a shower and wake up.

Call John at UBI first thing in the morning and see if they have them in stock. If so they would be your best bet considering how close they are to you. You can also order direct from paragon but I think they have a $100.00 min. Be sure to order the 7075 because the 6061 is crap. If they cannot get you one call me tomorrow morning and I will next day one out to you by 12 central time. 816-721-3596

Did you find a d'hangar?
Yep, I got a hold of someone at dean 1st, so ordered one their. But, also ordered one online from UBI, to see if it is the same hanger, which I am 90% sure it is. It may seem stupid to have ordered one from two places, but there is a reason. I wanted to be sure I could ride this weekend. I knew that Dean would send me the correct one. However, UBI is cheaper, closer, and easier to order from (online v. having to get a hold of someone at Dean) so if it works out, I will just get hangers from UBI. Since I figure I will have this for awhile, I wanted to see if I could find a good place to get hangers from. This one seemed to bend too easily to not have a good place to get replacements lined up.

Thanks again to everyone!

Surprised they didn't send an extra with your frame(s). I got a couple of extra hangers with my Colonel - style is a bit different though.
Probably with all the hassle I gave them about my frame (or frames) they decided they wanted to make some money off of me somewhere.;) It isn't a big deal. They were very prompt in returning my call from monday though.

You could actually make money if you sold all your gear stuff (or crap as I like to call it but whatever) and just go single speed
I love single speeds but they kill my back. I have a wussy lower back and last year when I had a Niner One 9 I always was suffering by the end of a ride,. I for a time thought it was the aluminum frame killing me. Nope, it was the effort from climbing, and it didn't matter if I did it standing or sitting or what position the saddle was in. I tried doing exercises and riding more, but it never got better. After going back to gears this year I have rarely had the problem except when I ride on either really long rides, or I if do a lot of climbing (even on my road bike this is true). Even riding full rigid is better for my back than singlespeed. Which sucks, cause I loved it. I am sure I will buy another SS soon, but it won't be my only bike like it was last year. Believe me I would love to go without gears, I would save some serious $$$ and drop a little weight.
