Bullit applications!!

Im first giving a little background of me and my bikes, then I´ll shot some questions...Im 33 years old, getting too old and fat very fast :D :D ...I own a Heckler 06 which I bought last June and Im still in love with her...my second rig is a Banshee Scream 03..as you may know its a hell of a pig to handle, meaning its quite heavy...so Im planning on buying a new "ligh" & "mini" dh bike...I would be using for the same stuff as the Scream so it has to bear some abbuse but it has to be light enough to avoid getting tired at first run in the morning!!so my candidates are Bullit, Spec Sx trail, and it also attracks me the Nicolai Ufo ST...I like the simplicity and effectiviness of my Heckler single pivot so the Nicolai and the Bullit are first choice but the Sx trail seems to be also a good bike to what I want to do...I will be using the bike for bikeparks mainly and the local dh trails....so tell me what you think about these bikes or particularly, the new Bullit in itself, cheers

I love my new bullit... I have had it at Diablo Freeride park. The one awesome thing about the bullit is I built it to ~37.5lbs. but it feels even lighter that that. I have been riding my hardtail for the past 6 months, while waiting for the bullit. I can actually throw the bullit around more than the HT, and it seems to feel lighter than the HT.

Trust me the bullit sounds like its THE bike for what you want.
Im 32, already really heavy but lossing weight. I had a 42 pounds bullit, incredible bike but the bike was more dh-fr that I wanted (im agressive but not hardcore). The simplicity of the travel and the burliness is a plus .
Now I have a 36 pounds nomad im I cannot be more happy with this bike.

I dont know about the scream frame weight but maybe will be very close to the bikes you choosed. The scream components also would be srtong and heavy so maybe your bullit or nicolai or the spec will be as heavy as the scream.

To me, if you want a not so heavy mini dh bike my chose will be:

1) Nomad RFR kit with coil rear and a totem or 66 as a fork (38 pounds)
Nomad have a really nice feeling coming down and a very eficient pedal stroke specially on technical climbs (165 mm plushy rear travel).

2) Light weight Bullit, if you want the simplicity and no maintainance spp (I think you like because the heckler you have and the bullit you have on mind) the X9 AM kit with coil rear , boxxer team, but maybe you will be changing rims soon...and keep the weight at 35+/-

both choices would be around $4000

But remember am a SC customer.

Scream is like 13 pounds of metal meat...soo....I think new Bullits are 9 pounds or similar w/ a coil shock? believe me when I say the Scream is a pig!...which is, in a sense, a good thing as it feels very secure and stable and a good bike to pedal through rough stuff but... I feel like I get tired quite soon, sooner than other people who I ride with with lighter bikes...this is why I want to get a lighter frame...

The previous last generation Bullit weighs 9.5 in a large with a coil shock...just weighed one yesterday at the shop for shipping. I don't know if they dropped any appreciable weight on the new one...doubtful if much was lost, as the new model is supposed to be notably stiffer and beefier, but who knows. A large Nomad with a coil weighs about 8.5 for some comparison. Yeah, Screams and Transition Dirt Bags weigh in the area of 12 pounds with coil shocks...strong but heavy.

mmmm, Ive just checked SC Spanish dealer web page and it says it only weighs 3.300grms with a Fox DHX5....and also, a Spanish mtb magazine says the frame w/ the same shock weighs about 3.450grms so...it seems, if this is true, they have dropped a little weight from its previous model....in any case, Im totally sure Im going to notice a difference in weight between the Bullit and the Scream, moreover, when I will be running a Totem or a 66 rc2x instead of the 888rc2x Im actually running on my Scream....
