I currently have a CK/819/DT 14-15 wheelset. It has been awesome, stiff, strong and trouble free.
I'm getting interested (more and more) in endurance events (6h,12h, 100-mile) and was thinking about building a second wheelset with something like Hope pro 2/DT 4.2/ supercomp spokes...
Is it worth it? maybe I could save 200-250 gr? and it is expensive when you get it from a good wheelbuilder (I would)
Or I better stay off and save my money

If your going to get a race only wheelset, why not go for something really light, 4.2s on hopes sounds like a reasonable xc wheelset, maybe check out something like stans ztr race wheelset, which would be another 2-300 grams lighter than your planned wheels.

ck's are heavy, 819's are heavy.. you could save 200 grams solely on the rims with a standard 400ish gram rim.. or save 400 grams with a scandium rim!

i bet faster tires would make more of a difference though. your wheelset isnt all that heavy, and a lot of that weight is in the hub where it matters the least.
