I am lookingto build a new bike. I've had El' Cheapo bikes for a while and now I want to build something that fits me and will last. I am a clyde/clod at 6'0", 295 lbs.
I ride mostly flat wooded trails with some rolling hills and a few <3' drops here and there. I've not been to aggressive yet for fear of snapping a frame. I feel that it will increase with something that i have confidence in. I also want something strong enough to take to other areas because I travel quite a bit out west and down south.
I'm not necessarily on a budget, just the more things cost, the longer it will take for me to complete it. Would like to stay under $2K though.
I've been trying to find a Kona dealer around me (Indiana, IL, or online) that can get me a Hoss frame. Also been thinking of a Five-O build, or a Santa Cruz Chameleon build. Not sure if the Chameleon or Five-O is burly enough to carry me though.
I'm also not sure what size frame i should get? I'm 6'0" with a crotch to floor measurement of 32.5 with a decent sized gut on me that I'm going to lose on my new bike
Are there any clydes with experience on the Chameleon or Five-O?
Can anyone direct me to somewhere that has left over Hoss frames in stock?
Thanks Y'all
