Budget Friendly Shorts

So I need to buy a another pair of shorts or two. My Zoic Ether's are about on their last leg. I love the cut and fit of them, they've lasted, but man $75 for a pair shorts is pretty damn high. I have one pair of shorts from Amazon that are okay on fit, meaning not prefect but I can live with them. Just tried another pair and the leg/inseam was stupid long. I'm 6' and the legs hung down below my knees.

Looking for suggestions on a $30-$40 pair of shorts with a 12"ish inseam and that isn't a parachute either. I don't need lots of pockets and zippers. Phone goes in my left pocket, car key in the right, ID, cash, and bank card in a small hip pocket.

Here's the stupid long ones https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T1GJ1KB?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details

And the ones that are okay Amazon.com

I have a pair of these and I really like them. The zippers seem to be made well. I have a couple of other shorts that I got off Amazon and the fly zipper broke on it.

200 views and only one response. Guess I know the answer then, pay the money for the Zoics.

TBH when it comes to bike comfort, especially my pants/shorts and helmet, I think it's worth the relatively small premium for higher quality. I wear TLD Skylines at the bike park and 11.5" Patagonia bike shorts on the trails. Nothing worse than being uncomfortable in that area, and for an extra $40-50, to me it's well worth it.

I have a pair of those first ones you listed on Amazon. They are fine have zero complaints about them. I have a 2nd pair from Amazon that are these:

I like the 2nd pair better. It comes down to the black accent (prefer the way the accents are on the 2nd pair) and I prefer the double button over the button surrounded by Velcro. I also like that the zippers for the pockets are sewn in instead of heat taped on. I've had tapped on zippers fail over time (Arctyrex so it's not like it was cheap clothing) so I tend to favor the long term durability of the sewn in zippers.
