Gala Ride second Saturday of the month starting at 9:30 AM

Please join us for our monthly group ride at 9:30 am the 2nd Saturday of every month for a casually paced social group ride at one of the many great parks in the east bay. The next Gala ride is January 9th out at Rockville Hills Regional Park in Fairfield. There is a $3 day use fee, please make sure you keep your receipt when in the park.

This no-drop ride is fun and includes most levels - both men and women. Most importantly, we ride together and find camaraderie in the sport. Contact Bruce for more info.

Rides generally last 2 to 3 hours. Ride is free and open to the public and led by experienced local mountain bikers familiar with the trails. Afterwards we regroup for beer and socializing.

Driving Directions
The Park is located on Rockville Road approximately 3/4 of a mile from the corner of Suisun Valley and Rockville Roads. Look for the small, chain link enclosed parking lot.

Directions from East bound 80: Take the Abernathy Road exit and head west. At the roundabout, turn left, continuing west through the intersection of Suisun Valley and Rockville Roads. The Park is located on the west side of Rockville Road.

Directions from West bound 80: Take the Rockville Road exit and continue through the light. Proceed to the next light which is Rockville Road and turn right. Continue down Rockville Road. At the turnabout proceed straight on Rockville Road and go through the intersection of Suisun Valley and Rockville Road. The Park is located on the west side of the road.

Possibly the largerst group of bikes I've ever seen at Rockville. Besides the BTCEB group which included the Contra Costa Composite NorCal team, Team Hamana was there as well and so were several other small riding groups. There had to have been more than 80 bikers in the park at the same time.

Because of the thickness of the fog, I didn't take many pictures of the group moving. I started out in a 27-rider "B" group. There were 2 other groups. The A group was primarily the faster members of the CCC NorCal team. There was also a C group.



Shortly into our B group ride, we had a couple of riders fall off the back as we headed up Tilley. We split the B group into 2 and I headed back to check on them with another. When we got back to the intended meeting point, both B groups were gone. Now there were 3.

We crossed paths with the C group and picked up a couple more B group riders who had also gotten misplaced in the fog. Soon, we met up with wg.



As we continued our ride with random choices of trails, we continued to pick up riders who had lost their group. By the time we got to Fenceline, we were back to 15 or more riders.
