Some websites do not state the length of the hoses or anything about hosed when you order a set with caliper, rotor and lever. Do Shimano brakes come from the factory all set up?

All the pairs of brakes that i have brought have always come ready to fit.Including all fittings hoses and bled.

I bought Shimano LX hydraulics for my latest tough hardtail:

They came ready to bolt on, with some more hose than I need, but I managed to arrange them somewhat neatly without shortening.

got my M765 from CRC 2+ years ago and they came all bled and ready to go ...

what kind of frame have you got? and size wise as well?
usually the hoses are long enough to fit :thumbsup: otherwise it is a simple job to change the hoses or to shorten them ...

My Cannondale frame is quite small. My measured hose size requirement is about 750 in front and 1250 in back. It is not a suspension geometry so the front is really short. I heard that the standard size for Shimano brakes is 800 and 1350 - can anyone confirm.

I'm looking for easy install - don't want to bleed them if I can avoid it. I did see a shop manual on the Shimano website that showed that all of their hoses can be shortened without bleeding, by following some steps (pull lever, remove at caliper and cut, etc etc) so I guess if they have to be shortened it may not require a bleed.

shimano hoses come in 900mm (front) and 1300 or 1700mm (rear) lengths

Yep, just following the instructions for hose shortening on XTR brakes worked just fine.

I think I may buy from somewhere in the US. Now to decide which brakes I want - Shimano, Juicy, etc. I like them all.

Why do you like them all?

Because I have ridden bike with Shimano, Juicy, Stroker, etc and I like them all. I may go with Shimano. The performance and pros and cons of each may balance out, but Shimano has served me well for decades and in return I tend toward the brand. Not married to it, just like it a lot.
