Before anyone gets the wrong idea, I already have a new Hope hub to replace this Chinese piece of... poorly prepared but good looking aluminum. Lesson learned, but fortunately not too costly.
The first time I installed a rotor on this Goldix hub, 2 of the 6 bolt holes stripped. And I had barely put any torque on them! I tried to clean up one of them with the appropriately sized tap. I knew it was a long shot, but nope. The vendor (the GOLDIX Store on AX) said "it was you who screwed the threads, my friend." Thanks a lot.
Is there any way I can put some threads in this thing, say with a Heli-Coil or similar? There's not a whole lot of material there - see the pic. The buggered holes are at 5:30 and 10 o'clock in the pic. Or is it destined to be a paperweight?
