Ok being a total newbie I figured a picture is worth a thousand words.
Brake levers have seen better days on my 4600 and I am looking to upgrade/ replace the original ones. The only markings on my origionals say Shimano Diore what is everyone's thoughts on the levers from the picture below. I can get them for 40 bucks.

Just looking at the one picture... they seem to be in good shape. Based on the style of the LX logo, I believe they are definitely a few years sold. Obviously, cabled levers, so I assume you have cabled brakes. They are two finger pull. The older LX line from Shimano isn't bad, and they're a step up from "Deore" (versus LX Deore and XT Deore).

Worth $40? If you need them and like them, then sure, they're worth $40.

Will they work? Probably. What do you have for brakes? Rim or cabled disk?

Just saw your other post about the fork on your 4600. The picture there shows the brakes you have. The LX levers you question in this thread will work fine.
